Former ref says foul on Musa was a penalty
Arsenal were given a get-out-of-jail free card against Leicester City at the weekend when referee Mark Clattenburg, adjudged that Ahmed Musa was not fouled by Hector Bellerin.
Dermot Gallagher, a former English Premier League said in a television programme, that Clattenburg should have awarded Leicester a penalty for the foul.
“Musa was very clever in getting his body in front of Bellerin, which meant the Arsenal defender had to try and get the ball which he didn’t.
“That was a sure penalty,” Gallagher added.
Video replays showed that Clattenburg had an unobstructed view of the incident and only him can explain why he did not call the foul.

Arsenal defender, Rob Holding, though said Musa was looking for the contact and that the referee made the right call. “I think he [Musa] went down hoping for it. I think it was the right decision.
“We wanted a clean sheet after conceding four goals last week. It was vital. Hopefully next week we can build on this, score some goals and win a game.” Holding added.
On another front, former England midfielder, Danny Murphy said he was surprised that the referee did not give a penalty for the trip on Musa. I don’t understand – he is right there, he can see it.
“It is so obvious,” he added. Murphy also commended Musa on the drag back move which completely fooled Bellerin.
