Henry coaching Arsenal’s direct EPL opponents

Henry tells Batshuayi how goal scoring is done

Thierry Henry was chosen as assistant coach of Belgium by former Everton manager, Roberto Martinez and the Arsenal legend has already begun work.
Henry was seen explaining the finer points of getting the ball in the net to Chelsea’s new recruit, Michy Batshuayi on Monday as the Belgium team got ready for their high-profile friendly with Spain on Thursday.
Batshuayi, who already has three goals for Chelsea this season wrote on Twitter after the training session that he ensured he was totally attentive. “Not sure I ever listened to my parents this…#Titi #LearnFromTheBest”
And it wasn’t only Batshuayi that was all ears to the former Arsenal and Barcelona forward as Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Christian Benteka were part of the session.

“The attention is normal for a world-class footballer, but his focus is on the team and helping the players,” Martinez said.
“He knows the Belgian players very well and there are many players with attacking intentions. For a country like Belgium to produce so many quality players is fascinating.
“When I approached him Thierry was aware of that and very enthusiastic about passing on his experience and he has prepared well for his coaching duties.
“We felt he would be the missing link in our working style, with a different approach to the others in the group.’
“The attention Thierry receives comes with the experiences he has had and what he has achieved in the game.
“He has a lot to offer. He is going to play a big part in this group to help the players as much as he can, like any member of the staff.”
Henry left his role with Arsenal before the beginning of the season as he was told to choose between his Gunners and television work. And now, he is passing on his knowledge to players with Chelsea, Arsenal’s London neighbors.
