PSG lost more than a player in Ibrahimovic - Wenger
Ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League clash against Ligue 1 Champions PSG, Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger says it’s hard to measure the French side's strength at the moment after big changes at the club this summer.
The French champions have a new manager in Unai Emery and lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United and the Arsenal boss is not sure how this will affect them.
“They will continue to be the dominant team in France but they lost more than a player with Ibrahimovic.
“He was the leader, the captain, a charismatic carrier of the ambition of the club and it’s always difficult to measure when you lose a player of that stature, how big the damage is.
“At the moment they have also changed managers so they are trying to find their feet at the moment.” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
Team News
Like PSG, Arsenal have fitness concerns after defender Laurent Koscielny sustained an eye injury defending a corner against Southampton on Saturday.
The good news for Arsenal is that Koscielny trained with the rest of his team-mates at London Colney on Monday morning, sparing manager Wenger the need to field young stopper Rob Holding alongside new recruit Shkodran Mustafi – with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel still missing.
Midfielder Aaron Ramsey looks to have trained today as well, offering another potential boost to the visitors. The Welsh international has not featured since being taken off with a hamstring problem on the opening day of the Premier League season against Liverpool.
