Why we lost to Monaco-Dele Alli

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has given possible reasons why his side recorded disappointing 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco in the Champions League.
The player who is of Nigerian descent but already pledged his international future to his country of birth, England admitted that he and his teammates have only themselves to blame following their bad start.
Spurs were unable to mark their return to Europe's showpiece competition with a victory, as a slow start to the match saw them fall two goals behind inside the opening 31 minutes at Wembley Stadium.
Despite playing in front of a record home crown for an English club in the competition at Wembley, Spurs were unable to take their chances when they arrived while Monaco scored from their only two shots on target.

Alli who was obviously disappointed with how things panned out told BT Sport his side require a quick response when they turn attention back to Premier League action this coming weekend.
"We started poorly and they punished us for it," he said. "We did enough to win the game but we didn't take our chances. Monaco are a good team but we weren't ruthless enough.
"The fans came out in numbers and never stopped singing. We need to pick ourselves up and win the next game."
Spurs face Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the Premier League, as well as Gillingham in the EFL Cup, before travelling to CSKA Moscow for their next European match.
