Arsenal latest big-money signing Shkodran Mustafi suffered an injury scare on Wednesday during Bastian Schweinsteiger’s final game for Germany.
The former Valencia man joined Arsenal from Valencia for £35million on Tuesday, hours after a deal was struck for Espanyol striker Lucas Perez.
The 24-year old was left clutching his ankle in pain during friendly against Finland, giving Arsenal fans worldwide a major scare after suffering.
The centre-back lined up for Bastian Schweinsteiger’s final-ever game against Finland, but was left on the ground clutching his ankle in pain early in the second half.
Mustafi was able to continue gingerly, but the extent of his potential injury remains unknown.
Mustafi is expected to slot in beside Laurent Koscielny at the heart of Arsenal’s defence this season, but his apparent setback could put his Gunners debut on hold.
