Wenger passes Iwobi fit for Southampton clash


Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that his Nigerian import, Alex Iwobi is up for selection in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Southampton at the Emirates.
Having cupped a thigh injury on the opening day of action against Liverpool, Iwobi has missed the Gunners last two League games and was also unavailable for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
But having returned to training earlier in the week, Wenger has given the all clear for Iwobi to star against the Saints.
“Iwobi is back in the squad. The only one who is not ready is Aaron Ramsey,’’ Wenger told reporters, according to arsenal.com.
“He is on the a good way, but not completely ready for Southampton or Tuesday.’’
The return of Iwobi will sure gladden the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who is expected to include the 20-year old in his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia
