Official: Udinese appoint Del Neri as new boss

Udinese appoint Luigi Del Neri as its new manager
Serie A outfit Udinese have officially confirmed the appointment of Luigi Del Neri as the club's new head coach following the dismissal of former coach Beppe Iachini.
The Zebrette fired Iachini on Sunday after a poor start to the season, and the former Juventus Coach immediately emerged as favourite for the job.
“Udinese Calcio announce they have entrusted Luigi Del Neri with the first team.
“The Friulian Coach has signed a one-year contract, with the option for a second, and will be unveiled at a Press conference on Tuesday." a statement on Udinese’s official website read.
Del Neri’s last position as a manager was at Verona, but was unable to prevent the Butei from slipping into Serie B.
Born at Aquileia, Udine, Delneri made his professional debut as player at the age of 16 for Spal, Ferrara's football team, for which he had worked as storer.
After playing for Foggia and Novara, he moved to Udinese, with whom he gained promotion to Serie A, Italy's top division. He was later traded to Sampdoria and then to Lanerossi Vicenza, Siena, Pro Gorizia and Opitergina, an amateur team from Oderzo, where he ended his playing career at 34.
